Christmas Fair Javea International College
Yesterday at the Javea International College “Christmas Fair” a wonderful time was had by all. The day included christmas carols, mulled wine a special visit from Father Christmas, lots of lovely folk and our “Make a Smile” ladies and Jr. Warriors. All were warmly welcomed by the Headmaster and teachers of the college helping to raise awareness for local children in care who will need our help and compassion over this coming festive season. Christmas can be a very difficult time for the children with the awareness of their situation and the realisation that their Christmas will be spent in a care home, so look out for the Christmas Bag Appeal posters in the press and help us to give them a special time this year.
We also face a very serious and major problem with the children’s home in Relleu (ten little ones aged between four and twelve) where part of the roof is now badly leaking and could become unsafe. The “Relleu Children’s Christmas Roof Appeal” has been generously started off by the Benitachell Charity Shop with a fantastic €1,750 and we have had building specialist “Night’s Constructions” volunteer to supply a team of roofers to take on the work.
For most of us Christmas is that magical time of year when family and friends enjoy special moments of giving, good food, lots of love and hopefully that spirit of peace on earth, whatever your colour, creed or religion. “Make a Smile” with your support will try to fill part of that Christmas cheer that some of these children will unfortunately miss from their own families this Christmas.
