U3A Vall de Pop visit the Farm
Another amazing day at the Relleu farm today where fifty two lovely members of the U3A Vall de Pop came and joined us for a fantastic Paella lunch and were treated to a grand tour of the “Make a Smile” Self Sufficiency Project. Our special friends and ten of the children came down to greet us and spent some time enjoying the visit and the party. By sponsoring our olive trees and funky chickens, buying our veggies boxes and fresh eggs, contributing €10 each for lunch (mostly grown on our own land), Jane Potter (no relation to Harry) adding her last year’s Christmas card money (€120) as well as the members making an awesome donation of €208 these amazing, outstanding good folk raised a whopping €1,989. The lovely couple Derek and Anne Martyr, who organised the trip, then added a further €601 to the day from their fantastic Wednesday night Quiz. The twenty four resident youngsters also sold €120 worth of plants and jewellery which they had made or grown in the occupational centre for their own pocket money. The Relleu Farm is truly becoming a community project supported by excellent local folk. I would like to thank everyone who made this happen today. A very special thank you to all the U3A Vall de Pop members, a big hug to Derek and Anne and a super big thank you to our own special “Make a Smile” Warriors.
